Supporters of The Haven Wolverhampton are set to get hot under the collar this autumn as they host their charity Fire Walk on 24th November at the Round Oak in Wombourne. The Haven, a charity that supports women and children from domestic abuse and homelessness is teaming up with UK Firewalk to see if supporters can handle the heat and brave coals reaching 1200 degrees Fahrenheit!
The event is perfect for individuals, groups of friends, or corporate team-building challenges. What’s more, if you enter a team of 5 you will receive 20% off the £15 per person registration fee!
Anyone can walk on fire providing they feel they can – the event is open for people of all ages and previous UK Firewalk events have seen participants aged from aged 4 – 98 years! Firewalking sounds dangerous but it is very safe and provides an instant buzz! On the day you go through safety training to prepare both physically and mentally.
A team from TP Squared in Wombourne, where the event is taking place, were hot on their heels to sign up and are really looking forward to the event. Carolyn Smith, Managing Director said: “Everyone at TPSquared wanted to get behind the Fire Walk event, it was a super easy decision to make to help raise funds for an incredible local charity. We have supported The Haven where possible for a number of years but during the pandemic, when you consider the extreme situations these women and young people have been through, we felt it even more important to get involved and help raise vital funds and awareness for The Haven.”
Jade Secker, Fundraising Manager at The Haven said, “We are really excited for our upcoming Fire Walk and hope as many members of the local community as possible choose to join us and take part. It has been a difficult 18 months and we have seen a huge demand in the need for our services due to the pandemic – this, coupled with not being able to run our usual calendar of fundraising events, means this event is incredibly important to us. To have companies like TP Squared involved is great as they are based in Wombourne where the event is taking place and it really shows the community coming together to raise much-needed awareness and funds for local domestic abuse services. With events like these, we are able to continue to offer vital support to those who need.”
