7 – 13 March 2022

What is it all about?

EMPURPLE means ‘to colour or become purple’ – and that is exactly what we want YOU to do for Empurple Week by hosting purple-centric awareness and fundraising activities. Purple is the Internationally recognised colour for campaigns that provide a unified voice and take a stand against domestic abuse. Purple symbolises justice and dignity – two values strongly associated with women’s equality.

The 8th March is International Women’s Day and falls within The Haven’s Empurple Week. The day itself is a celebration observed across the world each year and recognises the economic, financial and social achievements of women, past, present and future. By embracing Empurple Week, you will be supporting vulnerable women and children at The Haven Wolverhampton and helping us raise much needed funds to help them rebuild their lives after being subjected to domestic abuse.

Below are just some of the ways you can get involved. Any event, big or small, will go a long way in improving the lives of the women and children we support. Thank you in advance for your care and participation – we can’t wait to see your purple-tastic celebrations!

Journey to Safety & Independence

This EMPURPLE Week, support women and children to flee to safety and rebuild their lives following the trauma of abuse. Our welfare project aims to provide support for emergency needs eg travel, food vouchers, household items and, when women are ready, support to resettle and create a safer home.

This matched funding campaign opens on the 8th of March.

Thank You for being purpletastic!
