Empurple Month is The Haven’s annual call to action. What began as Empurple Week has grown to span Women’s Month, a time when our community comes together, turns purple, and chooses to give in ways that create real, lasting change.
What does ‘Give to Gain’ mean?
Give.
Give what you can: your money, your time, your energy, your attention, your space, or your voice. Every act of giving, big or small, helps create change. Your giving helps women and children gain hope and empowerment. It creates safety and stability where there was uncertainty. It makes space for creative and healing activities. It ensures access to knowledgeable, trauma-informed support workers. And it builds a community that believes them, stands with them, and walks alongside them.
Gain.
Because giving doesn’t end there. In return, you gain understanding and awareness. You gain knowledge about domestic abuse and its impact. You become part of the Haven community. You gain the confidence to speak up, to stand in solidarity, and to be part of change.
