Celebrating Success: The Haven is a Finalist in Wolverhampton Excellence Awards!

Celebrating Success: The Haven Reaches the final stage in the Enjoy Wolverhampton Bid Excellence Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Enjoy Wolverhampton Bid Excellence Awards. We are immensely grateful and honoured to have been shortlisted for not one, but TWO esteemed categories, “Bounce Back Champion” and “Marketing Activity of the Year”. This year at The Haven we are marking our 50th anniversary, recognising 5 decades of support in Wolverhampton, therefore to be shortlisted during our Anniversary year holds an extra special significance for us.

Over the past five decades, The Haven has been a beacon of hope for countless individuals seeking safety, support, and empowerment in the face of domestic abuse. Being shortlisted for the Enjoy Wolverhampton Bid Excellence Awards not only recognises the heartfelt efforts of our dedicated team, volunteers, and supporters who strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals affected by domestic abuse, but also provides us with a continuing opportunity to amplify our message, reach more people in need, and raise crucial awareness about the prevalence of abuse in our community. We are truly grateful to have been shortlisted.

The Enjoy Wolverhampton Bid Excellence Awards not only shine a deserving spotlight on exceptional Wolverhampton-based organisations, but also serve as a platform to inspire others and foster a spirit of collaboration within the community. As finalists, The Haven can further their mission of breaking the cycle of domestic abuse by promoting awareness and encouraging dialogue about this pressing issue. We can continue to advocate for change, challenge societal norms, and offer hope to those who need it the most – all whilst (hopefully) winning an award or two!

Jade Secker, Fundraising Manager said “Sadly, domestic abuse still carries significant taboos and stigmas, and many women and children seeking refuge require the safety and confidentiality that The Haven provides. As a result, The Haven has become a silent beacon of hope in Wolverhampton, operating behind closed doors to safeguard those who flee from the darkness and adversity of abusive situations. Therefore, having our vital work and services showcased in the awards is amazing and helps to place an important spotlight on the issue of domestic abuse, enabling our community to address it head-on and provide the comprehensive support that women often require in their journey to freedom. We are completely shocked and grateful to have been shortlisted for not one, but two awards and we are really looking forward to celebrating with the other finalists in July.”

The Haven’s recognition as a finalist in the Enjoy Wolverhampton Bid Excellence Awards is a testament to the unwavering dedication and impact of our team of staff, volunteers, and supporters over the past 50 years. We are so grateful to the selection committee for choosing us as finalists and acknowledging our successes. We can’t wait to join you for the Awards Evening on 13th July at Grand Station, and we will be keeping everything crossed in the meantime! Together, we can strive for a future where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered. You too can join us for this event where the city centre’s most passionate, hard working and resilient businesses will be recognised and celebrated. Book your tickets here: https://enjoywolverhampton.com/awards/tickets.
