Becoming a Haven Ambassador
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in using their voice and platform to raise awareness about domestic abuse and signpost to our award-winning specialist services. Our Ambassadors will support us with engaging with local communities to educate, inspire and promote our services and fundraising events, as well as other income generating efforts.
What we are looking for
Knowledge:
An in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and the impact it has locally and globally, recognising the gendered nature of Violence Against Women and Girls. As an ambassador you must have demonstrable understanding of prevalent myths associated to domestic abuse and how to counteract these myths.
Experience:
Ideally you will have an existing platform that you can use to raise awareness about The Haven. It will help if you are familiar with the City of Wolverhampton but not absolutely necessary. Experience in engaging with people in person or online is welcome. Practical application of your VAWG knowledge is required.
skills & Abilities:
To be a confident public speaker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to engage in and effectively navigate difficult and challenging social discussions and commentary on social media and beyond.
What you can expect
You will start your journey with us as an ambassador with a full induction and free CPD VAWG & accredited Domestic Abuse Training. You will be featured as a Haven Ambassador on our website and other publicity material. We will keep you updated about our work.
