About the role:

Do you have good knowledge and understanding of housing law and policy? Are you passionate about supporting women and their dependent children ensuring they have a safe home? This could be the perfect role for you.  

The Safer Housing Keyworker will work across services at The Haven to support women and their dependent children to access and maintain a safe home. This will include supporting women who are at risk of becoming homeless and/or need support on their tenancy rights including priority housing rights, along with advice for secure and joint tenancies. 

You will support clients within our Safe Houses, with move-in, benefits and housing applications, and referrals to external services as needed. 

As this Maternity cover, you will continue to develop pathways for women with complex housing needs, under current housing legislation and the Domestic Abuse Bill, including safe options for women with no recourse to public funds (NRPF). You will carry a caseload and provide intense one-to-one support and also to liaise with professionals and proactively seek information, including timely legal advice on housing law and local housing policy.

The successful candidates will be experienced in housing law and will have experience and an understanding of the gendered dynamics of VAWG.
