Keep reading to find out more about how we are keeping you safe when changing collection tins.
Your safety is our top priority.
The safety of our supporters, our staff and volunteers, as well as the general public is our top priority when we undertake any fundraising activity. During the pandemic many establishments that kindly host collection tins for us have sadly been closed, meaning we have not been able to safely change the tins and collect kind donations stored inside them. Now that things are starting to re-open, and in line with government guidance, we are starting to once again safely visit our collection tin venues to empty their tins so we can put your donations to good use.
Whilst out changing collection tins, to keep you safe, our team will:
Complete regular COVID_19 tests before coming into work.
Follow an in-depth risk assessment factoring in all our tin host sites and any potential hazards.
Personal protective equipment
Our team will wear PPE and face coverings throughout their visit and will keep to a 1 metre+ distance at all times from staff and customers at the site. They will also ensure they are following regular hand sanitising procedures set out by us and any guidance provided by each individual venue when entering and exiting.
Proceed with caution
Contact venues beforehand to check for any confirmed cases and in most instances, these venues would therefore be closed. If we can’t get in touch, we will proceed with caution.
We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator, which means we adhere to a fundraising promise and regularly ensure our activity is in line with any guidance and regulation given.
What you can do to keep yourself safe.
If you spot one of our team whilst out on the collection tin rounds in a venue, please ensure you stay 1 metre + apart from them and wear a face covering where necessary to protect both yourself and our Haven team member.
If you have any symptoms of COVID_19 or have been in close contact with someone that has symptoms, please ensure you are following government guidance and for your own and others safety please stay at home.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and in line with any announcements amend our collection tin activity accordingly. You can re-visit this page at any time to keep up to date with our planning, much of which will focus on how we deliver this activity safely in the context of all necessary COVID-19 guidelines and precautions.
Thank you for understanding.
