DESCRIPTION:Is playing 18 holes for charity on a glorious golf course your idea of a perfect afternoon?\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter the success of our most recent golf day last year\, we would like to invite you along to join us for a great afternoon of entertainment at Oxley Golf Course on Thursday 23rd May 2024. The day promises to be either a break away from the office\, a good networking opportunity with colleagues\, or simply a chance to get back out onto the green with friends. For those who have attended before\, you already know what a great day you are booking in for. \nStart the day by joining us in the clubhouse for breakfast sandwiches\, a hot drink\, and a chance to network and socialise with your team before heading out on a beautiful golf course for 18 holes. \nAlongside your 18 holes of golf\, we plan to host additional mini competitions throughout the day\, including nearest the pin and longest drive\, all for the chance of winning a trophy. After your day on the course\, you and your team will come back into the clubhouse for a 2-course post-game meal\, a raffle\, and evening entertainment (more to be announced soon!). Throughout the day\, you will be raising vital funds for the women and children supported by The Haven. \nEntry is just £80 per person (£320 per team) and teams of up to 4 players. \n£50 Corporate Hole Sponsorship packages are also available for those who would like to gain exposure at this event. Well then WE NEED YOU!! Join us at Langar Airfield in Nottingham\, in May 2024. You could be a part of a fantastic team taking on an incredible challenge all to raise vital funds for women and children fleeing domestic abuse and homelessness. \nYou can feel the thrill of a 14\,000ft freefall skydive\, take in the glorious sights from way above\, feel a full adrenaline rush as you reach a 120mph velocity before gently gliding to the ground under the parachute. So many of our Jump 50 team from 2023 – including the last minute additions of our very own fundraising team – can vouch for the amazing adrenaline rush and lifelong memories this challenge will give you. What’s more\, every penny raised will be helping to ensure more vulnerable women and children can flee to safety\, and access the vital care and support services they need to rebuild their lives following the trauma of abuse. DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nOverview: This training is to enable you to understand the complex nature of domestic abuse\, reproductive coercion\, and pregnancy and how this can impact the lives of families. With legislation and updated definition of domestic abuse\, recent statistics of the prevalence of domestic abuse in pregnancy\, what is reproductive coercion and recognising behaviours\, how to support a woman who is being reproductive coerced\, the effects of prenatal abuse\, adverse effects domestic abuse may have on an unborn child and parenting\, how does toxic stress affect reproductive health and the implications\, the impact of the mother – baby relationship\, real life case studies and sourcing the appropriate support available for a woman who is being subjected to domestic abuse. \nAt the end of the training participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify what is Reproductive Coercion\, and the health impacts and be able to recognise the signs.\nRecognise factors that impact prenatal development.\nIdentify how Domestic Abuse affects the mother-baby relationship\nRespond to disclosures of Domestic Abuse sensitively and in a way that promotes the safety of victims and families.\nLocate specialist support that is available for a woman who is being subjected to domestic abuse.\n\nThis training is aimed at any health professional whose work brings them into contact with women from the voluntary\, statutory\, and private sectors. DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nSection 76 of the Serious Crime Act 2015 came into force on 29th December 2015 and created a new offence of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship. Before this offence was introduced\, case law indicated the difficulty in proving a pattern of behaviour amounting to harassment within an intimate relationship. \nOverview: This training gives a practitioner’s an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and coercive/ controlling behaviour. The training explores legislation and the government definition\, identifying behaviours and indicators\, examples of how coercive control can affect parenting. It explores how coercive/ controlling tactics impact on a person’s identity whilst looking at social attitudes and the law and what types of evidence are used. DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nSection 76 of the Serious Crime Act 2015 came into force on 29th December 2015 and created a new offence of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship. Before this offence was introduced\, case law indicated the difficulty in proving a pattern of behaviour amounting to harassment within an intimate relationship. \nOverview: This training gives a practitioner’s an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and coercive/ controlling behaviour. The training explores legislation and the government definition\, identifying behaviours and indicators\, examples of how coercive control can affect parenting. It explores how coercive/ controlling tactics impact on a person’s identity whilst looking at social attitudes and the law and what types of evidence are used. Using real life case studies to identify how insidious this behaviour is and equips you with strategies on how to respond sensitively to a person who is being subjected to coercive control. \nAt the end of the training participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify what the term ‘Coercive Control’ means.\nUnderstand the impact of Coercive Control on Children.\nRecognise signs and feel confident on how to ask the ‘question’ in a way that promotes safety.\nIdentify examples of evidence and where the offence applies.\nLocate support that is available for anyone who is being subjected to coercive controlling behaviours.\n\nThis training is aimed at any professional whose work brings them into contact with victims and perpetrators of controlling and coercive behaviour from the voluntary\, statutory\, and private sectors e.g.\, Specialist Domestic Abuse agencies\, Refuge staff\, Social Care\, Housing Officers\, Education\, Police\, Health and Social Care Providers\, Academic Support\, Criminal Justice Services\, Family Justice Services\, Private Fostering. \nCPD points: 3 points \nDuration: 3.5 hours \nThis webinar will be accessed through MS Teams\, prior to the sessions please check you have access to MS Teams and that you have picture and sound on your device. No refunds will be issued\, but tickets can be transferred to events of equivalent value.

DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\nEmployers have a Duty of Care to ensure their workers are ‘reasonably safe’ and put measures in place to satisfy this. This also extends to contractors and self-employed people doing work for your own business. Although there is no specific law related to lone working\, general health and safety legislation must be complied with such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974\, which we will cover in the training. It will often be safe to work alone\, however\, best practise is to equip yourself with the best knowledge and tools to deal with any health and safety risks before doing so or as a refresher. \nAn employee working alone is more likely to make poor health and safety decisions and take more risks without a colleague around to share and discuss the decision making. We will help you overcome this barrier with advice on planning ahead\, decision making procedures and how and when to best respond to situations that arise. \nBy the end of the session\, you will: \n\nUnderstand the importance of planning your workload\nHave greater understanding of staying safe\nConsider how you would handle difficult and challenging behaviour\nHave developed a personal safety checklist\n\nThis training is best suited for anyone who works full or part of the time alone in public\, private or self-employed sectors that may come in to contact with challenging behaviour from clients\, or victims and perpetrators of abuse. DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for the fourth instalment of our 2023 Haven quiz nights! \nWe are really looking forward to welcoming you to the fourth of our Haven quiz night’s of the year. Quiz Masters Steve Saul and Dicky Dodd will both be back to bring you a night of questions and mid-week entertainment – with our normal rounds of questioning – all kindly sponsored by Paycare. \nGrab your friends\, family or colleagues and join us at Fordhouses Cricket Club. Whether you are a long standing attendee\, or a newbie – there will be lots of fun to be had. \nEntry is £5 per person in teams of 4. (This ticket includes admission for a team of 4 people to our Haven Quiz Night for £20 and a 50p booking fee.) There will also be a raffle and some extra games too. \nWe can’t wait to see you soon.\nContact us at give@havenrefuge.org.uk for any team enquiries \nThe bar will be fully stocked with all of your favourite drinks\, crisps and nuts. Unfortunately\, refunds are not available on team bookings\, however\, if you are not able to make it\, we are happy to transfer your booking to a future quiz night. \n\n\nImportant Information \nPhotography \nPlease note\, we will be taking photos and videos on the night of the event. There will be a sign displayed during the event to state this. Photos and videos taken at the event may be used to promote the success of the event and may be shared with third parties (such as local media outlets) to promote future events too. If you do not wish to be included in photos/videos\, please make yourself known to attending photographers\, and to the relevant Haven staff member at any time during the event. On occasion\, The Haven will use external photographers for events who own the official copyright of images. Photography agreements are in place with all photographers used at Haven events to minimise any misuse of imagery and ensure we are being transparent with how your photos are used in line with our GDPR policy.

SUMMARY:Health\, safety and wellbeing Webinar in the Workplace Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\nThis training will increase your awareness on staying safe within your workplace. We will take you through your personal responsibility to yourself and others as you move through professional situations in and around front-line service roles. \nBy the end of the session\, you will: \n\nUnderstand your own responsibilities\, and the responsibilities of others in relation to health\, safety and wellbeing and supporting legislation\nBe able to carry out own responsibilities for health\, safety and risk management in settings and the community\nKnow and understand the importance of moving and handling safely\nUnderstand the importance of hazard management and fire safety in DA settings\nHave a greater understanding of security and risk in DA settings\nHave considered your own well-being as a practitioner.\n\nThis training is aimed at any professional whose work brings them into contact with adults from the voluntary\, statutory\, and private sectors e.g.\, Professionals who have direct (face to face) or indirect (over the phone) contact. This may include but is not limited to specialist domestic abuse agencies\, refuge staff\, social care\, health workers\, doctors\, PCSOs\, health and social care sector\, voluntary sector\, support workers\, housing officers\, and community leaders. \nDuration: 2 hours \nThis webinar will be accessed through MS Teams\, prior to the sessions please check you have access to MS Teams and that you have picture and sound on your device. No refunds will be issued\, but tickets can be transferred to events of equivalent value.
