SUMMARY:Domestic Abuse Employer Awareness Webinar
DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a FREE event about our Purple Pledge campaign.\nAre you an employer that needs a Domestic Abuse policy and training to support your staff?\n\n\n\nWe are encouraging businesses and organisations to have a Domestic Abuse Policy and Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions to support their employees. For the past 20 years we have been training individuals as well as businesses and organisations and noted the following: \n• The lack of policies in place in many organisations. \n• The lack of ‘experts’ to support Domestic Abuse – many organisations have Safeguarding Officers and Mental Health First Aiders\, but not Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions. \nOur Purple Pledge campaign is based around: \n• Ensuring that employees know how to support and respond to colleagues. \n• Ensuring that managers and HR have more knowledge about Domestic Abuse to support employees. \n• Ensuring that organisations show they are a zero-tolerance company when it comes to Domestic Abuse. \nThe Purple Pledge will help employers: \nRaise awareness – through the delivery of accredited training of HR\, line managers\, relevant teams and Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions. \nDevelop and introduce measures – to build a framework to best assist employees who are being subjected to domestic abuse or perpetrators who have disclosed or being identified. \nProvide consistent and holistic support – to employees who disclose they are being or have been subjected to domestic abuse. \nReview their current responses to domestic abuse – through the assessment of what policies and procedures are already in place and what we can help implement or improve. \nEnsure the health and safety of employees – through following your duty of care (H&S Work Act) you will ensure that staff work in a safe environment which takes all aspects of wellbeing into account. \nShow they are a zero-tolerance employer – when it comes to domestic abuse. \nBe part of a group of organisations – who share best practice around employee wellbeing. \nCommunicate internally and externally – about what The Purple Pledge is and what it means to everyone. \nWhat The Purple Pledge means for employees: \nBy joining The Purple Pledge Campaign\, your employers are making a serious commitment to providing a safe space for victims to disclose domestic abuse issues and to ensure that everyone is in touch with the right organisations. \nThey are also making a commitment to help stop the stigma that is often associated with domestic abuse and help people to have difficult conversations with each other. They want every person in their workplace to feel comfortable raising concerns around domestic abuse. \nThis event is for employers who want to introduce or improve the support they give to employees being subjected to\, or who are survivors of Domestic Abuse. \nThis event is also for employees who would like to see more support and awareness around Domestic Abuse in their workplace. \nThe event will be via MS Teams\, a joining link will be forwarded to attendees the day before\, a short Q&A session will take place at the end\, but all questions will be fully answered to attendees after the event.
