DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nThe webinar will provide attendees with information and guidance on Domestic Abuse\, provide a safe space for discussions and provide follow-up information that can be utilised after the training. \nThe course covers a wide range of topics such as: \n• Types of domestic violence and abuse. \n• Risk factors for Domestic Abuse. \n• Key principles for helping victims. \n• The impact of Domestic Abuse on Children\, Young People and Adults at Risk. \n• Barriers to seeking help\, and how to address them. \nThe training will enable you to better understand the realities and prevalence of domestic abuse\, using statistics\, legislation and the government definition. \nIt explores the nature of domestic abuse and enables you to identify behaviours\, recognise signs and how this behaviour impacts the victim using real life case studies. \nIt explores the effects domestic abuse has on children and identifies the societal myths to understand the barriers that stand in the way of a person leaving an abusive relationship. \nYou will be able to develop strategies to respond sensitively and confidently to a person who is being subjected to Domestic Abuse and know how to source the appropriate support. \nThe training is written at an introductory level and is suitable for EVERYONE. It will be beneficial for employees\, managers\, people who feel they may know someone being subjected to domestic abuse\, individuals who feel they may need support or someone considering how they can implement domestic abuse knowledge\, training and/or policies into their organisation. \nThe training is a recognised CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Training. Once completed\, attendees will receive a CPD certificate. \nThis webinar will be accessed through MS Teams\, prior to the sessions please check you have access to MS Teams and that you have picture and sound on your device. No refunds will be issued\, but tickets can be transferred to events of equivalent value.

DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nEverybody is responsible for safeguarding children and young people. This is regardless of your occupation\, how frequently you work with children and young people\, or how often you interact with their families. We all have a responsibility to keep children and young people safe. \nOverview: The training provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to safeguard children and young people. It describes the common types of abuse\, how to recognise them\, and how to respond to your concerns. The training uses real-life case studies to help you understand your responsibilities. It explores the Children’s Act 1989 and 2004 and is guided by the statutory guidance on working together to safeguard children (2015) document. It teaches you to identify\, assess and meet the needs of children and young people regarding your responsibility to co-operate with the local authority and other agencies where there are safeguarding concerns.  It equips you with the process for reporting safeguarding concerns to the MASH including reviewing and completing the relevant safeguarding forms. \nAt the end of the training participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand what is meant by ‘safeguarding’ and why learning about safeguarding children and young people is so important.\nUnderstand the difference between safeguarding and child protection.\nUnderstand all of the different types of abuse and neglect and how you can identify them.\nKnow how to identify the indicators and warning signs of abuse.\nKnow how to respond to any concerns that you have about a child or young person.\nBe aware of how to act should a child or young person disclose information about abuse to you.\nKnow how a referral to social care is made and understand more about the possible responses to a referral.\nUnderstand what happens in the process after a referral is made\, including information on assessments\, the child protection conference and child protection plans.\nRecognise safer recruitment responsibilities\, including how to deal with an allegation against a staff member\, whistleblowing policies and staff training.\n\nThis training is suitable professional of all levels\, including managers\, supervisors\, full-time staff\, part-time staff\, and volunteers. Examples of people who may wish to take this training include: Teachers\, nursery workers\, teaching assistants\, carers\, and childminders\, Doctors\, nurses\, paramedics\, and health workers\, Social workers\, council staff\, and immigration workers\, Youth workers\, activity leaders\, and volunteers\, Sports coaches and teachers\, Church leaders\, religious leaders\, and volunteers. \nThis webinar will be accessed through MS Teams\, prior to the sessions please check you have access to MS Teams and that you have picture and sound on your device. No refunds will be issued\, but tickets can be transferred to events of equivalent value.
