Whilst we can all breathe a sigh of relief at being reunited with loved ones and returning to our favourite restaurants, sadly services at The Haven are still in need. Throughout the year, our vital wrap around support for women and children subjected to domestic abuse rely heavily on funds generated from our busy calendar of fundraising events, most of which remain cancelled for the foreseeable future. This means a significant loss of vital funding needed to ensure that we can continue to offer the safe haven that many vulnerable women and children in our community turn to in their darkest hour.
Can you help to ensure we can continue to be there for women and children who need us?
You can read our full appeal and make a donation to our Recovery Fund by clicking here.
You can also now donate via Facebook. There are no fees meaning more of your donation will go directly to supporting women and children in dire need.

You can make your donation go even further by stating your eligibility for Gift Aid.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a scheme set up by HMRC to allow charities to reclaim the basic tax rate you have paid on your donation at no extra cost to you or the charity. This means that by stating you are eligible for Gift Aid, for every £10 donated, we can claim an additional £2.50. This alone is enough to cover the cost of a call to our emergency helpline and so, really does make all the difference. Download our Gift Aid form here . If you are unsure whether you are eligible for Gift Aid or would like further information, why not download our Gift Aid FAQ .
The Haven can take receipt of cheque donations through the post. Please make cheques/postal orders payable to 'The Haven Wolverhampton'
and return to Senior Community Fundraiser at:
The Haven Wolverhampton,
18 Waterloo Road,
Please do not send cash in the post, and please note; The Haven Wolverhampton is unable to accept responsibility for cheques lost in the post.
Payroll Giving means your monthly donation comes straight from your salary. The best part is that it comes from your gross salary which means if you make a monthly donation of £10, you would only actually contribute £8 as the other £2 would have been paid out as tax.
This is a great way of making your donation go further. So, why not take a look at our form. You can set up your payroll giving donation in a few simple steps:
As we prioritise the safety of women and children and continue to follow government guidance, sadly we are currently unable to accept any gift in kind donations.
In normal circumstances we are always very grateful for your donations - if you are able to hold on to your donations of clothing and toiletries, when this is all back to normal we would be happy to accept them

Everything is getting back to normal now, right?
Whilst we can all breathe a sigh of relief at being reunited with loved ones and returning to our favourite restaurants, sadly services at The Haven are still in need.
Throughout the year, our vital wrap around support for women and children subjected to domestic abuse rely heavily on funds generated from our busy calendar of fundraising events, most of which remain cancelled for the foreseeable future. This means a significant loss of vital funding needed to ensure that we can continue to offer the safe haven that many vulnerable women and children in our community turn to in their darkest hour.
These past couple of months have been unprecedented and everyone has experienced the disruption caused by Covid-19. We have all had to make major changes to our work and personal lives and shield those we care about most.
At The Haven we are overwhelmed with the incredible support we have received during the pandemic. Because of YOU, women and children have been able to continue to access vital, and often life-saving advice and support when fleeing domestic abuse and homelessness.
Sadly, we are not out of the woods yet. As we all start to get used to a ‘new normal’, for us as an organisation, the uncertainty continues.
During the first three weeks of lockdown alone, 16 women and children were murdered in suspected domestic abuse killings. This is the highest figure across a 3-week period for a decade. The Haven take approximately 1,000 helpline calls every month, and through the summer months we still need your help to ensure services like this can continue.
Can you help by donating to our Recovery Fund?
Just £2 could cover the cost of a helpline call from a woman in danger. With your help, our staff will keep working to ensure that every woman and child who needs support receives the vital, lifesaving help to escape domestic abuse for good.
As we move from a period of emergency response through to recovery, our helpline will still ring, our refuge will continue to provide safe emergency accommodation, and the women and children will receive essential therapeutic support in new and innovative ways. Wrap around support is a key step in women and children moving on to a life free from the trauma of abuse. We can’t do this without you.
