For so many women and children across the country, their home is not a safe place but is a place of immense fear. The 'Stay Home' strict government measures in place to protect people from the virus, only offers abusers full power and control over women without the intervention or support of friends, loved ones, and colleagues. This is a terrifying prospect for anyone experiencing domestic abuse.
We rely heavily on the income generated from our fundraising events, all of which have had to be cancelled in order to follow government advice. This puts our services in immediate threat...
We need your help now more than ever. Click here to read our full appeal.
You can also now donate via Facebook. There are no fees meaning more of your donation will go directly to supporting women and children in dire need.

You can make your donation go even further by stating your eligibility for Gift Aid.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a scheme set up by HMRC to allow charities to reclaim the basic tax rate you have paid on your donation at no extra cost to you or the charity. This means that by stating you are eligible for Gift Aid, for every £10 donated, we can claim an additional £2.50. This alone is enough to cover the cost of a call to our emergency helpline and so, really does make all the difference. Download our Gift Aid form here . If you are unsure whether you are eligible for Gift Aid or would like further information, why not download our Gift Aid FAQ .
The Haven can take receipt of cheque donations through the post. Please make cheques/postal orders payable to 'The Haven Wolverhampton'
and return to Senior Community Fundraiser at:
The Haven Wolverhampton,
18 Waterloo Road,
Please do not send cash in the post, and please note; The Haven Wolverhampton is unable to accept responsibility for cheques lost in the post.
Payroll Giving means your monthly donation comes straight from your salary. The best part is that it comes from your gross salary which means if you make a monthly donation of £10, you would only actually contribute £8 as the other £2 would have been paid out as tax.
This is a great way of making your donation go further. So, why not take a look at our form. You can set up your payroll giving donation in a few simple steps:
A gift in kind can go a long way to supporting the women and children accessing our services. Donations can really help to make refuge feel warm and welcoming and can equally help women and children who are resettling into the community; giving them a head start in making their new house a home. Please see the full list below of what we can and cannot accept.
As we prioritise the safety of women and children and use as many of our rooms and spaces as emergency accommodation, it means space here can be limited. We give out as much as we can to women and children in need at the time the donation arrives to us, we store what we can in the small spaces we have and then anything left over from that we will try to sell to generate vital funds to support women and children at The Haven in other ways through therapeutic and practical services.
For more focused giving, we run appeals throughout the year where we ask for specific items, so please keep your eyes peeled on our social media sites for information. (Our links to Facebook, and Twitter, can be found at the bottom of the page - please like and follow us while you're there!)
Did you know we also have an amazon wish list? We keep the list regularly updated so don't forget to check there too for inspiration.
If you have any items you would like to donate that you think might match the needs of the women and children we support, please call us on 01902 904677 - and speak to any of the teams. Thank you in advance for your support.

These past few weeks have been unprecedented due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Never before have our lives been so disrupted and affected. For women and children affected by domestic abuse this is no different. Just like you they are nervous and frightened but they are facing an additional worry that can be just as sinister as Covid_19. For so many women and children across the country, their home is not a safe place but is a place of immense fear. With strict national measures implemented, they have no choice but to isolate in high risk, life-threatening conditions. The advice to 'Stay Home', only offers abusers full power and control over women without the intervention or support of friends, loved ones, and colleagues. This is a terrifying prospect for anyone experiencing domestic abuse.
We need your help now more than ever...
Our services heavily rely on funds generated from our busy calendar of fundraising events, corporate and community fundraising support and sponsored events such as marathons and bike rides; all of which we have sadly had to cancel for the foreseeable future due to the Covid_19 outbreak. This means a significant loss of vital funding needed to ensure that services such as our 24-hour helpline and our live chat facility can continue to support women and their children at a time when they need it the most. We cannot do this without you; our supporters.
Can you help by making a donation to our Haven Covid Relief Fund?
We understand the financial concerns on the nation at this time but just £2 could cover the cost of a helpline call from a woman in isolation and in danger. With your help, our staff will keep working to ensure that every woman who needs support receives the vital, life-saving help for her and her children to live safely away from abuse. Our helpline will still ring, our refuge will continue to provide safe emregency accommodation, and the women will receive essential therapeutic support - but only with your help.
At a time where the demand for services is going to significantly increase, any amount you can spare ensures we are a step closer to ensuring our services can still be here at a time when they are needed more than ever.
