Role: Criminal Justice Independent Domestic Violence Advisor
Pay: £23,000 – £25,000 per annum, (depending on experience/qualification)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (Full Time)
Contract Type: Temporary 7 months
(With a potential for extension funding dependent)

Role Overview

We are recruiting for a Criminal Justice Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (CJ IDVA) to work within a well-established team of IDVA’s across the city of Wolverhampton.

As a CJ IDVA at The Haven Wolverhampton, you will be supporting high-risk victims of domestic abuse heard at MARAC, as well as those going through the criminal justice system. you will thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will work with clients to complete individualised safety and support plans whilst respecting their autonomy, and rights to make their own decisions. You will provide crisis intervention support and work effectively with partner agencies to support your clients to live safe from further abuse.

Experience – skills required

We are looking for an experienced worker who has the skills to work within a multi-agency setting to provide support to high-risk victims of domestic abuse and those who are going through the criminal justice system.

You will be experienced in completing individualised safety and support plans, making onwards referrals, and providing advice to clients around their rights on a range of subjects including but not limited to, social care, housing, criminal justice, and civil interventions. You will need to be confident in advocating for your client. And have a passion and understanding of domestic abuse and how this can affect our clients, as well as an understanding of the gendered dynamics of VAWG.
