Q. What does The Haven do?

A. We provide shelter for women who are homeless or have been forced to leave their homes because of violence, abuse or other trauma. We also provide Immigration/ Housing/ Benefits Advice, Advocacy/Criminal Justice Support Services, Resettlement & Floating Support, Counselling,Volunteering Opportunities, Specialst Support for Asian and African - Caribbean Women, Children's Support Services, Support for Women with Diverse & Complex Needs and External DV Accredited Training Programme.

Q. How do I contact The Haven?
A. By telephone, day or night by calling 01902 713001. We operate a Helpline service - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and a Referral service from 5pm to 9am, Monday to Sunday. You can also email us on helpline@havenrefuge.org.uk
Q. What about my children?
A. Our hostels have facilities to accommodate both women and children aged up to 16 years.
Q. How long can I stay?
A. Until you have come to a decision about your future - we can help you with practical advice, counselling and support.
Q. Can you help me regarding housing?
A. Working closely with the local authority and housing associations, we will help you to find alternative accommodation and can continue to provide help and advice through our Resettlement and Outreach Service.
Q. What benefits am I entitled to?
A. We assist you in applying for Income Support and Housing Benefits, etc.
Q. Can The Haven help me if I don't want to leave my home?
A. Yes, with Outreach and telephone support.
