Vision
The Haven Wolverhampton’s vision is for all women and children to live in a society free from oppression, homelessness, violence and abuse and to promote and uphold human rights.
Mission Statement
The Haven Wolverhampton aims to provide quality and sensitive services to women and any dependent children who are affected by domestic violence and homelessness and in need of safety, shelter, stability and support within an environment of equality, dignity and respect.
Definition of Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is a violation of the human rights of women and children. It is the abuse of power and control, which can manifest itself as physical, psychological, sexual, financial social and emotional abuse against a woman by her current or former partner. Any member of her close or extended family, or that of her current or former partner can also be the perpetrator.
Ethos

To provide practical and emotional support to women and any dependent children who access The Haven Wolverhampton by:-

Providing information on options available
Providing information on potential implications of those options
Providing practical and emotional support to service users whatever choice(s) they make
Providing and/or facilitating access to services and support to assist them to achieve goals
In all dealings with clients we work towards enabling the client to make informed choices and to develop and maintain independence.

Strategic Aims
1. Provide quality temporary accommodation and associated services to women and any dependent children who are homeless through reasons such as Domestic Violence.

2. Provide quality and sensitive community based services to women experiencing Domestic Violence.

3. Raise awareness of the experiences and needs of women and children who have suffered Domestic Violence and/or homelessness through training, consultation, publications and research.

4. Develop partnerships at local, regional, national and international levels with the aim of influencing policy and strategy development and improved service delivery around the issues of Domestic Violence and homelessness.

5. Invest in the training and development of all employees, Board Members and Volunteers to meet The Haven Wolverhampton’s aspirations for excellence and governance responsibilities.

6. Promote diversity in order to enrich the organisation’s human capital and to promote access, equality of opportunity and social inclusion.

7. Adopt a person centred approach to development and delivery of services for women and children affected by Domestic Violence by involving service users in setting standards, identifying priorities and monitoring services.

8. Continue to develop a culture of continuous improvement to raise standards in all aspects of our work.
