Freedom Programme

The Haven Wolverhampton is now able to take commissions to deliver the Freedom Programme for women living with Domestic Violence and abuse. We are able to deliver within host agencies or arrange community venues. This is a twelve week course for victims and survivors of Domestic Violence.

Aim
To provide an opportunity for women to develop ways of thinking and behaving to protect themselves, their children and others from harm. To provide them with the knowledge they need to achieve this.

Objectives

  • To increase women’s ability to take control of their lives.
  • To increase women’s ability to make positive use of social provisions to increase employability and/or achieve economic independence.
  • To recognise the beliefs held by abusive men.
  • To recognise the impact of their life experience on their own attitudes and beliefs.
  • To increase women’s ability to recognise what steps they need to take to protect their children.
