“Working With Survivors of Domestic Violence” Training Programme

This programme is recognised and accredited by the National Open College Network. Its design is such that individuals are able to claim credits for each unit completed, thus allowing for personal choice, professional necessity and personal circumstances that may prohibit participation in the whole programme.

Every unit required one day attendance and total input of 10 learning hours. In order to gain accreditation from the National Open College Network, learners are required to submit a portfolio of assessment tasks which are completed outside taught learning hours. Should learners external to The Haven Wolverhampton choose not to submit this portfolio then a Haven Wolverhampton certificate of attendance will be awarded.

Types of Assessment Methods include:

  • Observation within class and the workplace
  • Question and answer sessions
  • Role play
  • Essays
  • Exercises and demonstrations
  • Practical work
  • Discussion
  • Seminars

  • Peer assessment
  • Self assessment
