Volunteering atThe Haven Wolverhampton: Would you like to help?
The Haven Wolverhampton has offered a supportive volunteer programme for many years. Volunteering at The Haven is a greatway to meet new people, get involved with the local community, develop your skills, develop an interest in women's issues and most importantly help support the women and children across Wolverhampton who access our services.
We have a range of volunteering opportunities available for you to choose from which involve supporting the different service areas of The Haven. They include:
24 Hour Helpline Volunteer - Providing confidential telephone support and practical help to women experiencing Domestic Violence and / or Homelessness
Charity Shop Volunteer - Help staff two shop units in Wolverhampton City Centre and act as representatives to The Haven helping to contribute hugely to how the public perceive us and the work we do
Children & Young People’s Service Volunteer - Assist the Children & Young People’s Services department with planning, preparing and carrying out play sessions with children and young people at The Haven allowing them space and freedom to play and develop
Event Volunteers – Help to ensure our events run smoothly and safely on the day or organise one of your own events
Maintenance Volunteers - Support our Maintenance team with basic repairs and maintaining the upkeep of The Haven refuges

As a Haven volunteer you will receive Domestic Violence awareness training along with flexible support from Haven Staff.

Please note that all volunteers for The Haven must meet the standards of The Haven volunteer programme. Volunteers must be sensitive to thecultural and emotional needs of women and children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. All Haven volunteers will need to obtain an enhanced CRB Disclosure.
The Haven is committed to supporting volunteers with varying levels of ability providing supportive programmes in order to meet a range of needs. The Haven is grateful to Access to Volunteering who in January 2011 provided financial support The Haven to train staff and produce accessible publicity materials for prospective volunteers.
