Volunteering - V Involved
Volunteering Opportunities for people aged 16 to 25

Hello!

Thank you for taking an interest in Volunteering with The Haven Wolverhampton.

My name is Gemma and I am the Volunteer Coordinator, I along with Stephanie (Volunteer Admin and Research Assistant) look after all of the 16-25 year old (V) Volunteers.

V aims to inspire young people aged between 16 and 25 to volunteer within various organisations and develop different projects in order to make a difference. V was established in 2005 with the aim of producing quality and diversity in youth volunteering opportunities Vinvolved Logo

Over the last 12 months we have had over 100 volunteers helping The Haven in various roles. It has been a great year and we have had fantastic support from Haven staff and the volunteers. Here are some the activities our Volunteers got involved in last year:

V Volunteer
  • Garden Projects
  • Graffiti Projects
  • Arranging a music and art festival
  • Assisting with organising international conferences and training programmes
  • Fundraising with local businesses such as Sainsbury’s, 107.7 Wolf Radio and 02
  • Collecting and coordinating donations
  • Arranging themed nights/experiences such as a Bollywood night
Arts and Music Festival

V volunteers also have the opportunity to work directly with the women and children supported by The Haven Wolverhampton. Volunteering opportunities are available in the Community Advocacy Support Team, Refuge, Children and Young People's Service, Resettlement & Donations, Counselling & Psychotherapy Service and the Helpline. You can also improve your admin skills by offering support in the HR department, ICT, Publicity and Marketing, Fundraising and much more!

Here at The Haven we look for volunteers who are passionate and enthusiastic and who are interested in helping us implement exciting and innovative projects. There are three priority groups; young mums, those not in education, employment or training (NEET) and those with disabilities. However, if you do not fall in to these categories do not worry - we accept applications from volunteers of all abilities providing you have enthusiasm, drive and a passion for The Haven’s work.

We are flexible with the hours you want to volunteer and are grateful for every hour you can spare. Volunteering is split up in to 3 areas Full Time (30 hours a week minimum), Part-Time (3 hours a week minimum) and Short term (one off volunteering for at least 2 sessions)
