Celebrate Christmas with The Haven Wolverhampton and help women and children affected by Domestic Violence and Homelessness.
The Haven Wolverhampton is calling out to all its loyal and generous supporters as we launch our Christmas Appeal 2009.
The Christmas appeal invites you to donate gifts of toys, clothing and food for the women and children who will be spending the festive period in refuge accommodation. We wish to bring joy and happiness to those accessing our services by providing gifts, preparing Christmas dinner and carrying on festive traditions.
The Haven Wolverhampton Christmas Appeal has proved a major success in previous years, and it is all down to you, our kind-hearted supporters who ensure that our offices are generously supplied with donations for our women and children. All we ask is that gifts for children are new and unwrapped and that tins and non-perishable foods are within their sell-by-date. Toiletries for mothers would also be appreciated, as would gift vouchers and financial donations.
Last year we passed on many items to the residents within our refuges, by exhibiting a Christmas shop of donations where mums were able to choose which gifts they would like to give to their children and loved ones. This helps to give our residents a sense of independence and fulfillment.
Therefore at this time of year, we ask you to spare a thought for those who will not be spending Christmas in their own homes and support us in helping to make a difference to the lives of these women and children.
