Jump for The Haven Wolverhampton!

Calling all Daredevils
The Haven needs you!

We are looking for people to take on the challenge of a lifetime and take part in a Tandem Skydive jump on 6th or 7th May 2011. If you need a little persuading read on and see what one of our daredevils made of the experience last year.

"They say the best way to conquer your fears is too throw yourself at them...well i did- literally!! My worst fear is heights so jumping out of a plane made me feel sick to my stomach but when i thought about how brave the women and children are who take refuge at Haven, jumping out of a plane is nothing really.

On the way up in the plane I felt surprisingly calm but wasn't really sure what to expect and thought the nerves would kick in when they opened the door. When we reached 10,000 feet they opened the door and you didn't have time to even think or get scared because your tandem skydive instructor just jumps out with you attached and next thing you know your freefalling!!!!!!!!!!

It's the most bizarre experience, your tummy goes at first as if your on a roller coaster then you settle into position with your arms out in the air just flying in the sky. When the parachute opens everything goes quiet and peaceful and you can enjoy the views (mine were of clouds for most of it as the weather had deteriorated but was a weird and wonderful feeling too). It all happens so quickly and a few minutes later your back with your feet firmly on the ground.

Overall it was an amazing experience, which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone and more importantly it raised vital funds to help keep supporting Haven. So next time this opportunity arises please, please, please sign up- i promise you won't regret it!!"
