The Haven T-Shirt Competition 2012
The Haven Wolverhampton is delighted to announce the return of an exciting competition for women and women’s organisations across the European Union (EU) which will help to raise awareness of Domestic Violence on a global level.
The Haven Wolverhampton T-Shirt competition asks women from across the EU to strike a pose and ‘get snappy’ by taking photographs of themselves and their colleagues wearing The Haven Wolverhampton ‘Say NO to Domestic Violence’ T-Shirts. Women are then be asked to complete a competition entry form and send their pictures to The Haven Wolverhampton, where a panel of judges, made up of Haven staff and residents, will award a prize to the entry scoring highest in terms of originality and empowerment.
The most imaginative and inventive entry will be given the opportunity to visit the UK and learn from the experiences of staff and volunteers and witness first-hand the work of one of the largest Domestic Violence refuge providers in the UK.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for one individual who is eager to learn more about Domestic Violence and how support services are provided in Wolverhampton. The City of Wolverhampton is at the forefront of raising awareness about Domestic Violence and demonstrates the advantages of inter-agency working. The Haven Wolverhampton has strong links with organisations who work to support those affected by Domestic Violence including Wolverhampton Police Domestic Abuse Unit, Wolverhampton Specialist Domestic Violence Court, Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum, as well as other refuges, support services and voluntary groups.
The winner of this competition will be entitled to free accommodation at The Haven Wolverhampton for two weeks, support with subsistence costs and travel expenses up to the cost of £400.
To enter simply write to publicity@havenrefuge.org.uk to request a T-Shirt. Your first T-Shirt is free and any additional T-Shirts are payable at £5.00 (5.50 Euros) each.
Once you have your T-Shirt you can start setting up your photo. Be imaginative – take your picture in front of a stand out land mark or get your friends or colleagues involved.
Once you think you have the winning entry complete the official Haven T-Shirt competition entry form, attach your photo and send to publicity@havenrefuge.org.uk by Friday 2nd March 2012. The successful applicant will be informed by May 2012 with a work placement scheduled at The Haven Wolverhampton for August 2012.
Please be aware that to enter the competition applications must meet the following criteria;
- Female
- Current resident within the EU
- Aged 18 or over
- Work or have worked / volunteered for a organisation which supports those affected by Domestic Violence
- A current valid passport

Competition Terms & Conditions
- The Haven Wolverhampton cannot guarantee the return of any photographs to individuals once submitted as part of the competition.
- Photographs will be used as part of The Haven Wolverhamptons publicity strategy and may appear on The Haven Wolverhampton website and in other Haven publications.
- The Haven Wolverhampton will not accept responsibility for any T-Shirts lost in the post.
- Entries from residents outside the EU will not be considered. Please see list of countries in the EU
- Entries that breach the above criteria will not be considered.
- Entries after the closing date will not be considered.
- Should an entry later be found to breach these terms and conditions The Haven reserves the right to withdraw its offer of a work placement.
- The Haven reserves the right to amend or cancel an offer without prior notification.
