Tasty Challenge was just one mince pie too far

They came, they saw, but sadly the people of Wolverhampton couldn’t conquer the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat 3 mince pies.

The Haven hosted the tasty festive challenge in The Mander Shopping Centre on Friday 10th December with the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Malcolm Gwinnett and MP Emma Reynolds joining in the fun.

A total of 17 contestants gave it their all, trying to munch their way past the current record of 3 mince pies in 1 minute 26 seconds, but all came up astonishingly short.

This Christmas we wanted to organise a fundraising event with a difference and although we aren’t record breakers The Haven would like to thank everyone who took part – our contestants were great!

The Mince Pie Challenge formed part of The Haven’s Winter Wonderland Celebrations which took place throughout December 2010.
