International Women's Week 2011
International Women’s Week is a global celebration which recognises the economical, financial and social achievements of women, past, present and future. Each year organisations across the world put on various events to mark the campaign and encourages women of all ages, race and background to take part.
International Women’s Week is rooted around International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8th every year. International Women’s Day (IWD) is now official holiday in China, Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more. So make a difference, think globally and act locally!! Make everyday International Women's Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding. International Women’s Week at The Haven - 7th to 11th March 2011
International Women’s Week is celebrated across the world, and here at The Haven it is no exception. We have a number of events which will take place across International Women's Week including;
Divas Day - Saturday 5th March - Enjoy an abundance of free activities and workshops including yoga, belly dancing, zumba, pampering, nail art, face paint and lots more. Empurple Day - Tuesday 8th March - Purple is the internationally recognised colour for campaigns which aim to raise awareness of Domestic Violence. Embrace all things purple and raise money for The Haven. Click here for more information.
