Christmas Appeal

What does Christmas mean to you? Lots of family around, enjoying giving and receiving  presents, having fun, house filled with laughter, fresh  aroma of that beautiful basting turkey, what more could anyone wish for?

We at The Haven have many wishes; we wish we didn’t have over 2000 distress calls a year, we wish we could put an end to abuse to women and children, we wish that our women and children would be safe in their homes, we wish to offer gift and toy support to all those currently accessing The Haven this Christmas, we wish we could do more!

Through this Newsletter, I appeal once again to you, our loyal friends and benefactors, to help us make one wish come true and Thank You for the good will you’ve shown us over many, many years.

Please help us help others, we are appealing for Gifts and Toys for those vulnerable women and children who will spend Christmas at The Haven. Can you help us fill our Hostels with Christmas cheer?  If so Contact Ros on 01902 572146

“…I’m a bit scared about Christmas…Mum says sorry and it’s not going to be the same, I’m not bothered really cos I know Mum won’t cry this Christmas Day”

My First Time at The Haven

'It was my first time at The Haven and I was really scared. The only friend I had was my little sister. After a few days I met some new friends, I haven’t been here very long but I feel very comfortable. Everyone is really helpful and kind. I really like it here.'

I Am Leaving The Haven

I am really happy about leaving The Haven but also very sad. I hate the fact that I can’t go into the playroom or see Emma and the Hostel Staff because they are also really nice and kind.
Emma said I can come and visit and let everyone know how I’m doing and how I feel.
I will enjoy having my own bedroom YES, YES, finally!  Thank you The Haven for making me feel welcome here, I feel really happy now. When I’m older I would like to be a children’s worker to help children that have been through the same problems as me. Thank you
