| The Haven and South Staffordshire District Council | |||||
A working partnership was formed two years ago between The Haven Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire District Council. This was to help to identify and address the need for services to support people in abusive situations within South Staffordshire. A Forum was developed from this partnership so that other agencies could get involved with the work in reducing Domestic Violence within the District. Kath Farmer was appointed as The Domestic Abuse Forum Co-ordinator and produced South Staffordshire’s first Domestic Abuse Strategy 2006/9. The Strategy is now in place and funding was secured for another year for a Domestic Violence Co-ordinator within South Staffordshire. The Strategy document is a tool from which the Forum’s work will develop to meet the needs of the community. A new Co-ordinator, Tracy Groom was appointed on the 15 May 2006 and Kath handed the role over to her. Tracy will continue with the work for The Haven in Partnership with South Staffordshire District Council to make sure that the strategy is implemented. |
